Grrr okay so. I just wasted like 40 bucks on Devil May Cry 4 today for PC. I say wasted, because I absolutely CANNOT get it to work. I keep getting this error message:
The game is on a DVD and came with 2 versions: One that runs with DirectX 9 and another that runs with DirectX 10. It's got a button for each on the start menu. Whenever I click for the DirectX 9 version, I get the error message "ERR06: Unsupported Pixel Shader Version Detected. 2.0". I have no idea what this means, is it basically telling me the graphic card is shit and can't run the program? I would try the DirectX 10 version and trash the other option but, in spite of the fact that I just installed DirectX 10, it won't let me click on that button. It's just blocked out altogether.
I DONT UNDERSTAAAAND. I guess my computer just sucks. I wouldn't waste a journal entry on this normally, but I've exhausted all other resources. And I can't return the game because Best Buy sucks. The only thing I can do if it doesn't work is sell it to gamestop or something :/
If anyone can even tell me what the error message means, I'll love you forever.
MY MOOD IS NOT OPTIMISM D:

-Judge Vulture picture
-Avatar Roku Fanart
-Some form of bluescreen Deidara fanart
-Doodle dump of epic proportions
-Maybe some revamped character ref. sheets.
-Various requests which I need a smack to the head to remember D8

Devious Comments
we need to try it again, the actual game might play fine, i think the cutscenes were just to intense/detail rich.
oh well...

You could always tell Best Buy they sold you a defective copy. With most electronics retail places, as long as it's been within a certain time period (usually 7 days or 30 days) and you still have the receipt, they will refund you for a defective item.

See I'd love to do that, but last time I went into Best Buy to return a computer game, they just wanted to give me another copy of the same exact thing |:< I had to like fight the customer service guy just to get store credit. And that one wasn't even open. Though that was for returning another game I accidentally got a double of.
Oh well, guess it's my own damn fault for not looking at the system requirements more thoroughly D8 Thanks for the advice.
